EARLY
BEGINNINGS
The White County Saddle Club was officially formed by a group of Sunday afternoon trailriders in 1969. Articles of Incorporation was signed on June 30, 1970. The present location, ten acres more or less, was purchased June 30, 1972 from John P. Black.
The initial board of Directors were John Sharp, Gene Nix, Ronnie Hicks, Tommy Hicks, and Doug Jones. The first registered agent was Fred Campbell. The First President was William Allison.
Gene Nix is the only member left of the founding group who has been a constant member for 35 years. State Senator Carol Jackson is the Daughter of Fred Campbell, our first registered agent, and was secretary and Treasure for seven years, and her late husband Glen Jackson was the second president and served for several years. Carol and her son Charles Jackson are still members at this time.
